I risk and it was all worth it!

Reflection

It was all fulfilling in the end and definitely, one of the best experience I could share and treasure with my family, peers, community, and soon to be co-teachers. I had no regrets of coming here and spending my time and efforts because it was all worth it. All the investments I had as part of SEAMEO Sea-Teacher Batch 7 are all overwhelming and been very helpful in shaping my potential and skills as a future educator of new generation. I was even more happy to see the fruits of my handwork as we are in the end of our internship here in Thailand. This experience had taught me how to fit in a different culture, how to adjust and cope up with it. With almost a month of staying here, I learned a lot about their practices, rules and even how to adapt their cuisine. It was one of quite difficult to deal with especially when we arrived in Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat under Royal Patronage Demonstration School Pathumthani, Thailand. We didn’t have enough knowledge where to go and buy necessary item, but all thanks to the hospitality of the VRU and its staff who made us feel comfortable all throughout the month, even if sometimes we can’t interact to them as much as we want because of language barrier. Thus, we learned to adjust and go with it.

My experiences and the friendship we had built from the different universities and country made me a person I am. It taught me to open myself and never hesitate to risk, for I have somebody who can help and give me a reassuring hand. It was one of my amazing story to share which cannot be measured by any amount, but only love and intimacy we had. I was beyond thankful that I became a part of this event because aside from the fact that it’s my edge on applying for work, it made me confident to see what is beyond my capability. It taught me how to risk, explore and get along with different people of the same interest. This experience leads me to a lot of possibilities which allow me to evaluate myself by not putting limits.

Despite the challenges we had encountered along our way, we managed to surpass it. I was beyond grateful for this opportunity which exposed me to greater possibilities and new adventure wherein I learned to discover and defy myself towards self-development. Most important lesson I’ve had was that, you should open yourself to changes and learn to adapt, because all throughout your journey, you had a people whom you can trust and lean on. More so, never lose yourself for hearing negative comments, instead use it as a motivating power to keep going. The world is vast and time is endless, thus it’s never too late to excel. The bond of friendship that was built for how many weeks was stronger as we see each other growing and reaping the success of our efforts. We laugh at each other’s drama or any failures but hand in hand as to resolve it.

As a matter of fact, I knew I’ll be bringing a lot of memories and experiences as we part ways. It saddens me but it made me look forward for better days and hope for another time we could spend time together again. Whatever I had experienced in my internship in Thailand for almost a month will all be remembered and treasured. I’ll be missing all that I and my co-SEA Teacher had shared. All our mentor and the people who gave us encouragement and reason to keep going and fighting, I say thank you! Your teachings will be remembered and I will use this to thrive and share whatever I had to my community and the learners. I realized that when you see the silver linings in every situation and not negativity, you will succeed. That is why, even in the midst of unpredictable circumstances, I tried to keep my feet on the ground. I used to believe that having a humble heart will bring me closer to my dreams. So, I made it sure to have a good character and attitude rather than just knowledge itself. We’re in world where things are rarely appreciated and done with dedication. Of all, I believed I am a person whom everybody knew, because of the upbringing of my family which I am so grateful of, our dean together with the faculty of education in my university (UIC), who accepted me and taught me to live life with dignity, love and respect in all aspect to which why I was able to succeed my internship. I could say, the thing that made my journey possible and productive is the way how I value it. Never forget a place who once made you feel sheltered and the people behind your success. I had no regrets because it was all worth it. MABUHAY!
